"can anybody tell me the correct way to change a alternator belt on a 88 3.0 omc ? No power steering, looks like the front motor mount will have to come off ? but i have been warned by friends you can not get the engine and the stern drive out of alighnment. Thus damage will occur.
please help

Just support the engine and re

Just support the engine and remove the spacer between the front mount and the engine on the port side- it won't change the alignment. Buy 2 belts and tie-wrap a spare one to the inside of the mount for next time.
