"I've got a 1999 200 Johnson, changing the impeller, how do I disconnect the shift rod up top?"

"remove,right lower engine cover,...remove shift cable trunnion retainer,remove breather,pull shift cable out of retainer to allow u to manually shift,u maY NEED TO SHIFT INTO FORWARD,remove ss cotter pin ,push shift lever to port side to release."
