"Well, what started as an overheating problem that was fixed has now become a serious power loss problem that still remains a mystery.

What I believe is this old 89’ OMC 2.3 has seen it's better days and just needs to be replaced. I have tried and tried to find somewhere to get a rebuilt 2.3 to no avail.

I have heard that the same era OMC 3.0 will fit this outdrive. I have also found an abundance of those motors available for purchase rebuilt.

2 questions:

1. Will the GM made OMC 3.0 bolt up this same outdrive on this model?

2. If not, does anyone know a source of rebuilt Ford made 2.3's?

I have a 1995 four winns 238 v

I have a 1995 four winns 238 vista. Lately the boat is eating fanbelts. I suspect the pulley is rusted. Can this be repaired or do I need to replace the pulley?
