"I have to swap out the engine in the boat due to a cruel cold snap that cracked the block. I've found another block, but the question is: should I (or do I) have to support the outdrive when disconecting and removing the engine? A friend thinks it will stress the transom if I dont...any replies appreciated."

If it's a Stringer drive,..... The Motor is the Only thing holding the drive to the boat....

If it's a Cobra,.... You want the Splined Driveshaft Out of the Coupler 1st.....Otherwise things get Bent....."

Its a 13SUE Stringer with a 225 Buick.Thanks for the info, Bondo. I think I'll be ordering a Seloc Manual for it.Wreckers got a complete engine for $150.00.
