"Volvo Penta SP-C outdrive uses hydraulic rams for tilt. The rams are shackled to aluminum anchors by means of steel pins secured with cotter keys. How to remove the steel pins? The appear to be frozen. Slide hammer, nitro?"

I recently removed

"Dennis,
I recently removed my tilt ram pins on a DP-A system. I'm not familiar with the SP-C however, the pins that hold my tilt rams have a convenient screw hole in the end. I screwed in a sturdy screw and used a heavy duty slide hammer (borrowed from NAPA loaner program) to remove the pins. I did need to use heat as well. A dent puller style slide hammer will not work.
