1980bs glasply 19ft inboard missing out drive

" well i'm looking at buying a 19ft glasply that in the 1980's era. it has a chev 4cy inboard in it. the only problem is that its missing the outdrive. with all the outdrives out there how do i know which one is for this type of motor. the outer housing is there, just the outdrive is missing. also what would be a good brand to replace the out drive with? thanks for the help "

"Bill, you say the housing is still there? Are you refering to the bellhousing? As to outdrives, there are several different versions, all which relate to engine size and gear ratio. Make sure you get one for your 4cyl.
