I would like to install a swit

I would like to install a switch to be able to turn off my supercharger when not needed.

I have been told that fishing boat captains do this.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

It would seem to me that you would have to have a clutch unit on the charger drive pully. I would check with who ever built the engine. Most super charged engines require the charger to run properly.

That engine has a 12v clutch on it that engages when needed. The computer gives it the signal to engage based on both an rpm range on my boat between 1400-2800 rpm and based on current rpm versus current throttle setting. IE from idle at 600 rpm if you bury the throttle the power demand will kick it in immediately.

"this was tried by the previous owner of my KAD300 when it was new- when the blower clutch was switched off, it affected the computer badly causing rough running, smoke and higher operating temp- he quickly reinstated the computer control of the blower- no lasting effect on the engine"
