" Last time I had my outbard in the water, the tach went "crazy", even though the engine was running fine. I have checked all connections and wiring and seems fine. On the back of this tach (I believe it's an early teleflex?) is a 1-2-3-4 place switch. Is it correct this should be in the "3" position for this 3 cylinder motor? and if leaving it in the "3" position doesn't work, what's going on?? Appreciate the help. "
