1993 70hp Yamaha charging voltage

My volt meter shows 15.15 volts at 2300rpm.

The SELOC Manual doesn't show a peak voltage for my engine but it shows a Lighting coil peak voltage of 13.5 - 16.5 at 5500 RPM for a 95-96 50hp.

Wonder why the manual doesn't show a peak voltage for my engine. It just shows a dash in the column.

"Yes, I have a volt meter. Thats how I came up with the 15.15 volts by hooking it to the battery and running the motor at 2300 RPM according to my Tach. on the dash.

Didn't want to run the motor any faster because of only using the water earmuffs in the back yard.

I would assume the voltage would be higher at 5500 rpm.

My motor has a WOT 5000 - 6000 RPM.

I have also noticed that sometimes the amber oil light faintly flickers at the same time the green light is on even though the oil tank is full.

I replaced the rectifier/regulator but still have the same problem.

I purchased an analog meter and checked the old rectifier/regulator and according to the meter, the old unit is fine.

I could have sworn that was the problem.

This is really crazy. If the unit is fine, why isn't it regulating the voltage?

Do you have any more ideas.
