" Hello, I pulled up anchor and went about 50 yards and the motor popped out of forward, I don't have reverse either. The shift cable is working and the shift lever is working down to the lower unit. What do you recommend?? Thanks, Ken "

" Ken.... Have the rig on a trailer if possible. Feel the friction of the prop when turning it by hand with the engine in neutral.

While doing that, have someone put the engine into either gear. If you notice a very slight increase in friction, in all probability (as Sparky states), the driveshaft has sheared, usually just under the water pump.
