Will using a 3-hole gasket in

Will using a 3-hole gasket instead of a 1-hole gasket at the riser to elbow damage the riser?

" The restriction is made on the elbow gasket in order to divert the water to the top of the elbow, keeping it cooler. Otherwise, with the three hole gasket the water exiting may only reach halfway up the elbow.
