1986 OMC EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

I have 1 9186 Searay with a 5

I have 1 9186 Searay with a 5.0 litre engine. I have to remove the right manifold as it need to be replaced. I have removed the one bold and the nuts and it just wont slide off. Do I need to remove the studs to the engine to get it out or is there a trick?? I don't want to remove the engine.

" Sometimes these manifolds are hard to remove. First make sure you have removed ALL bolts. Then spray around studs with WD40 or some type of penetrating oil. Then lightly tap manifold, all around with a hammer. Do not pry on manifold as it may damage machined surface of head or bend studs. It should loosen up eventually. After removal double check studs for excess corrosion and replace if needed. Good luck. Follow manafactures recommendations for reinstalling, use a new gasget and make sure you use a torque wrench.
