Chris Craft 350Q Ignition timing

Went on the first journey on

Went on the first journey on my Catalina '31. About a 4 hour drive to another dock.

The Port engine was pinging alot under part or full throttle. When I could we pulled over and by ear retarted the timing to continue on the trip.

Question: What are the specs for Ign. timing and where is the indicators?

Old point style igintion. Sin

Old point style igintion. Single points. I'm not sure of the type of distributor other than that..
