" I HAVE A 1976 BOAT THAT IS MISSING THE ENTIRE UPPER GEAR CASE. IT HAS A 302 FORD V8 ENGINE 175 H.P. I NEED TO KNOW THE GEAR RATIO I NEED FOR THIS UPPER GEARCASE. ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF SOME PLACES TO FIND A USED OR REBUILT UPPER GEARCASE. I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND AN ARM AND A LEG ON THE BOAT AS IT IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT 3,000 WHEN IT WORKED.

Is this an electric shift sterndrive? If so I may have what you need.

To my knowledge the gear ratio factor is in the lower gearcase.

" The gear ratio is in the upper unit. And it ishould be 21:19. There is also a high profile, and a low profile unit. Before you buy be sure you know what you have. I have a used low profile upper for $800.00 If you are interested. Good Luck, Chas. "
