" I have 1962 chrysler 318s. one runs fine. the other will start, idle fine then when put in gear at idle will stop. If put in gear and given gas it will run fine all day..... back to low or idle speed it stalls.... this makes it real hard to put in reverse or forward in and out of dock. HELP "

It sounds to mee that you could try this first: Open the adjustement screws say half a turn(each)and see if this helps you a little.This way you enrichen the mixture at idle.If there is no difference it could be the opposite.Check if you can see fuel dripping out of the boosters at idle speed. If you can, it is probably flooding. Then it is time carb repair/service in some way or the other. Before deciding what to do also check so you don't have a vacuumleak i.e. so that base gasket is not worn/torn in some way.
