" Merc 4hp Serial# 4759648 I'm guessing around 83 year model,not sure.
I'm trying to help a friend with this motor he's having problems when you advance to full throttle it will only run aprox. 1-minute and then die out.
He says that a carb kit was just put in, but motor has been stored many years. Also I looked and they have replaced fuel fittings and hoses.
Not sure if carb was cleaned good by seller.

Simply installing a carb kit doesn't ensure that the carb is set up properly. Make sure the carb float height is set correctly (bottom carb float lever should rest horizontally when carb cap is inverted). Make sure all jets and orifices are CLEAN. Compressed air, carb cleaner and more compressed air.
Try squeezing the fuel bulb while the motor is running and see if you can hold off the stalling. May be a bad fuel line, clogged tank intake, bad fuel pump, etc. Eliminate what it isn't and you'll eventually sort it out...
