" model number is 35520,serial number is 16055.If anyone knows the spark plug number and the gap I should use I would appreciate it,also what octane gas should I use and what ratio should I mix the oil ?Is there an easy way to measure oil for a 6 gallon tank?.Thanks in advance for any help.Mike "

"Mike.... #35520 is a 1960 40hp engine. You can use either a J4J, J6J, or a J6C spark plug. Due to the age of the engine, I'd suggest either the J6J or the J6C. The only difference between the two is that the J6C has a copper electrode which may last longer. Set the gap at .030 . Use a 50/1 mixture pertaining to the fuel/oil mixture. That's a easy thing to figure as it is exactly one (1) pint of oil to six (6) gallons of fuel. Be sure to use a good quality oil. You may use the lower octane fuel of 87 octane.
