You must use an oil rated for

You must use an oil rated for use in diesel engines and NOT the ones rated just for use in gasoline engines only . It will be noted on the container. Use the viscosity recommended by the engine manufacturer. Various brands are compatable but using one brand as much as possible and not mixing brands is advised as modern oils have a precise additive package put in by the manufacturer.
