Have you tried to adjust the shift cable? Or could it be that the prop is spinning in the hub?

"boat was fine crusen along... crank the weel to the right going around in circle, sounds like a motor dose with the prop out of the water. so i pulled back the throutle...started to troughtle back (slipen feeling ) . was able to get back to dock, with the boat out of lake in gear could turn prop one way not to the other visa versa in the other gear."

If you have a spare prop, swap it and test the boat again. If the symptomps have disappeared, then you know the other prop was slipping in the hub."
