I have an old BB 70 (AQ 80
I have an old BB 70 (AQ 80) that is locked up after years of the previous owner neglecting it. I have taken apart the leg which I believe to be a 100 leg and put in new bearings and seals. The leg was in fantastic conditon actually. (Volvo sure does make good marine products) The question I have is if I am unable to find parts to rebuild the BB70(AQ 80) what other volvo engine could I use as a replacement that would fit with the outdrive unit. The BB 70 I have has no engine mounts as it is conter balanced on the housing betwen the engine and outdrive. I just want to know if I can just get a newer volvo motor or a larger volvo 4 cyclinder and if it will bolt up with my outdrive. Thank you for all of your help.
