"Haing problems getting motor to lower or raise outdrive. Solenoids good, shaft in tilt motor is truning. Questions... (1) when reinstalling the motor does the shaft have to be aligned so that the cut in the shaft fits a key in the housing. (2) It is possible for the motor to turn but not carry enough voltage to engage the gear assembly (for the tilt of the outdrive) thus moving the out drive up and down?

"When I pulled mine I almost lost one side of the shaft coupling and the spring between them. That's how the motor shaft connects to the tilt worm gear. Do you have a parts catalog (search for BRP parts catalog, it's online) and a manual to look at? I am not a professional and only did this once two years ago. Can you lift the outdrive by hand? Did you mess with the clucth adjustment screw? It could be slipping. I might try a jumper wire to one of the two contacts to see if that will move the outdrive."
