Alpha one water inlet screens

just noticed that on my alpha

just noticed that on my alpha one there are no inlet screens in the two inlet pieces... how does sand and little debris get filtered from going thru and thru the impeller and the heat exchanger... were there screens in here one time and got lost or thrown away at some point or do these just not come with screen filter's.... the two half's got like seven hole's the size of a pencil eraser so maybe they don't have screen's behind them... just curious if i needed to get new one's and if they will come with screen's if i buy new one's

Just make sure the holes are clear and that no barnies are growing in and arround the plastic pieces.

"David, Barnacles used to grow in the water passage from the inlet grates to the waterpump, on my Alpha. I used to have to remove the water pump base and scrape 'em out. You can get some of them if you remove the intake grates."
