ok this is what i did...i orde

ok this is what i did...i ordered a rebuilt 1986 mercruiser 170....so i think....i get the motor...remove the old...start transfering parts to the new...all fit so far....now the fly wheel housing and the water pump housing dont fit...what did this oplace send me? my original motor serial # is A614134.....the rebuilt is 4771332....anyone have any idea what i have? please help

curious as to where you got your reman. motor and what all did it come with for the price of how much.... but anyhow sounds like ya got an earlier block and all from the company and not the 86 model

"i will be contacting the company tomorrow to see what they will do about this. if they do not honor it i will gladly post the name of the company......the motor cost me about 2000....just the head block and its components....no fly wheel or housing...no water pump or housing...no manifolds......no oil pan......oh by the way, according to my search, that serial comes back to a 76-79 model 470..."
