"I have a 95 four-stroke 50, never had any real problems other than a little oil in gas (trolling in cold Lake Michigan, you know), but late last season, the engine started absolutely screaming at idle. I'm afraid to put it in gear when it's doing this. I can't find anything gummed up in the screws/valvesprings area. My tach died at roughly the same time. Any suggestions?"
