"I am attempting to replace my tilt limit switch because the wiring is crumbling. There seems to be a twelve point hex head bolt on the pivot of the outdrive housing I need to remove.It looks just like a twelve point half inch allen wrench but I never heard of one.What tool does this require please?
I have the lower unit off and the engine out being rebuilt thanks to some previous help from this forum,thanks.

They make a tool for that is is about 15.00.but i will tell you what i did a 1/2 allen will work just as good and you might use it some were else beside on your boat.

"buy the spline tool from a dealer. (I thought sierra made one, but don't see it on Andrew's list) it's cheap, and will keep You from damaging hinge pins. use heat to remove pins. they are installed with red loc-tite."
