"Hi all,

I am restoring a 73' Carver Monteray with 307 OMC. The motor was tight so I disassembled and it has pits in two cylinders. The boat sat in a barn for 10 plus years. A local auto machine shop will bore, clean all parts, and order new engine kit for about $1700. I will have to put it all back together again. Is this the best course of action? Should I buy a longblock or full engine?"

"For That kind of Money you can buy a Brand New GM Goodwrench motor that'll just Drop In.......
A Truck motor won't even need any changes, except possibly switching the Coreplugs to Brass....Headgaskets,+ Cam will be Fine as they are......

A 350 will bolt right up to the Same Holes as the 307 will,.....
Free HorsePower for Less or Equal Money......
Just Spec it for a Pre-1987 refit..... 1986,+ older motors have a small difference at the Flywheel connection....."
