moter cranks but does not come out of hole seems to miss but runs fair after planeing also no power in reverse

1958 EVINRUDE TUNE-UPdo i need to use a puller to remove fly wheel to get at the points or will it come off easy with penetrating oil Thanks sorry this was my first attempt to post new question I will try again
