" My Mariner 40hp quit as I was tying up at dock. It was in neutral. Couldn't get any reaction to ignition turn, horn and even manual tilt didn't work, but did have power for GPS and fish finder. I hit battery with a less than 10 second charge from my reserve battery pack and engine started. Ran it less than 2 minutes to get it on trailer. Checked battery 2 hrs later...full charge and everything worked. Two days later still full charge and everything working.

I did get 2 individual "beeps" about an hour apart while out that day from overheat/low oil alarm, but engine wasn't overheating and oil reserve was nearly full. Otherwise, nothing unusual...anybody have any suggestions? I don't want it to conk out in middle of bay. "

Ed...Check your battery connections at the engine and also at the battery. ensure that these are clean and tight. If you are using wing nuts i'd get rid of them and use ordinary hex nuts with star washers.
