"Steve.... There is really no set figure on what the compression should be. However a rule of thumb is around 65/70lbs, and even. It depends on various aspects ie... are the cylinder walls dry, wet.... are you pulling it over slowly, fast? If after adding fuel, and the cylinders are wet, all you can get is 25lbs on either cylinder regardless of how fast you pull it over, I would be inclinded to think that the head gasket is failing at the area between the cylinders. FYI, in my opinion, that engine was one of the better small hp designed OMC engines ever.
