" Hi Guys:
My 1999 Volvo 220 Hp SX (105 hours) was running great until last week. It now will start cleanly and shut off abruptly (as though the key was turned off)after about one minute at idle. It will not restart after that. Tried Starting fluid...nothing.The Tach was replaced by the shop, thought there was a faulty wire. It started great again today, but died again after one minute.
Any suggestions?

" In my experience (automotive mechanic) this is a commonly found problem with late model engines. Check for spark when it shuts down, if its not there then you've probable got a faulty ignition module or crank angle sensor - as it heats up it stops working - it starts working again as it cools down. Eventually stops working altogether. "

Thank you Aldo for your post. Yes...I had a faulty ignition sensor. A special thanks also to Jason at Oakdale Boat Center (NY) for getting the job done right!
