THE HEAT WARNING SOUNDS AT ABOUT 136 DEGREE.
IN A CLYMER'S SHOP MANUAL IT STATES THE WARNING IS TO TURN ON AT 131 DEGREE AND OFF AT 104 DEGREE. IT ALSO STATES THE THERMOSTAT STARTS TO OPEN AT 136-143 DEGREE AND FULL OPEN AT 158 DEGREE. I DO NOT UNSTAND HOW THIS CAN BE.

" Dick,

The thermostat and

" Dick,

The thermostat and the heat switch are in slightly different locations. The body of the stat should be hotter than the temerature switch because of this. The area where the switch is located should have water flow even when the stat is closed. This is because the exhaust must be cooled at all times even when the stat is closed.
