" I have a 25HP Evinrude, 1978 model. It already has had a carburetor kit put in it yet it is still giving me trouble. When you open the throttle full open it bogs down. If you enrich fuel/air mixture with throttle full open by pulling the choke it picks up. This model has an idle mixture adjustment but no high speed adjustment. I would appreciate any thoughts you have. "

"Rick.... What you are describing I'm sorry to say, is a fouled faulty carburetor. When you cleaned the carb, did you remove the high speed jet from the float chamber in order to clean it thoroughly? Take the time to go through it again as it appears you're overlooking something, and from experience, I would suspect that high speed jet.

"I agree with Joe. You probably missed something in the main jet area. I have to admit that a few times I have hurriedly cleaned out a carb, only to have to remove it again and do the job over just minutes later.
