I have a Chris Craft Catalina with 350Q engines, and I have the original cooling system. 3 years ago I had to change the heads because they were damaged because of the heat.
Now I want to rebuild my system to closed cooling one. My idea is to buy heat exchangers for the 350Q. First I want to flush the block and the manifolds with 50%Hydrochloric acid to have the dirt out of the block.
Is this a good idea or are there any other solutions to clean the inside of the block?
I have original drawings from the closed cooling system for the 350Q. But the thermostat housing is not the same as on the raw water-system.
I dont know where I can get this.
Is there another way to install other thermostat housings?
Please help me (Sorry about my english I'm from Austria in Europe)
