" Josh;Go buy a service manual

" Josh;Go buy a service manual, follow test procedures in that service manual!Don't get some brand X book buy the REAL Johnson/Evinrude service manual, the aftremarket books are confusing and cost as much as the REAL service manual. "

"Josh..... Remove the s/plugs.

"Josh..... Remove the s/plugs. Disconnect the main red electrical connector. Crank the engine over via the starter solenoid and double check the spark. If you now have spark, in all probability the ignition switch is shorted. Let us know what you find.

Note that a line of something like I think I ruled out this or that really tells us nothing. One would need to take the trouble to type down exactly what one did, and what the results were.
