What type of gas goes in the tank

" I am new boater/boat owner. I have a mercury 402 engine. What type of gas do I put in the tank. Is it the gas from the regular gas station pump, if so which one is it? Is there an additive for better performance or to protect the engine? Thanks for all helpful answers. "

" Get an owners manual for that particular engine, it may tell you what octane to use(thats not that big of deal), but use gas station unleaded. The question is if it mixes oil in the gas for you, or if you add it to the tank with the gas. "
