" Just bought my first boat, an 83 Ebbtide with the above motor. Runs great but when in reverse the motor pivots up almost out of the water and when throttle is reduced it pivots back down. It has a CMC Power trim on it. Is their a certain pin that locks it in place? It has a pin that goes through six possible holes but the motor just rests on it when under forward throttle or idle. Is their some way it's supposed to clamp to this pin? Sorry for the rambling. Charlie
I was told I might want to leave it like this as quick reversing is not relly necessary and it would protect the lower unit should it hit something. "
