" I recently aquired a boat with a 70 HP Chrysler.
The motor turns over great, but will not start.
Steps Taken:
Checked Fuel Pump- Getting plenty of fuel
Checked fuel to Carbs- OK
Checked Spark Plugs- Good spark to all cylindars

Problems noted: Choke doesn't work but worked it manually with no results.

Moved Trottle back and forth but butterflies don't open.

Should I tear down the carbs and clean bowls?

Boat last ran in 2001. At time it ran fine.

Any help would be much appreciated. "

" If your getting spark to all the plugs, then your getting no fuel to the plugs. If the buuterflies dont open they cant let fuel by. "

"I need some help that maybe you can provide. I have a 1973 70hp 707HA, serial # 8025 without a starter. I am unable to find the right part #. I was hoping you could look at your starter and provide me with the part# of yours and any other information on it and the serial # off your engine (I was told the serial # is the key in finding the right starter). The problem I'm having is the starters I have purchased is the bolts that go through the starter are 2 ½" between them (center to center). The bracket for my starter is 2 7/16". If you could measure your bolt distance (center to center) and send me that info as well. I know this is a lot to do for someone you don't know but I've been searching all over and I can't find the right starter and you're the 1st I've seen with the same model #, hp and year."
