I have a 70 hp Force by Mercur

I have a 70 hp Force by Mercury motor and the serial # i believe is 1400-819128 and next to it it shows B8DJC Can you tell me what year this might be or do i need different #s.

"Actually Shaun,1400-819128 is the part number for the swivel bracket. It was used on 70hp's from 91 until 95 when Merc changed the motor to a 75 horse power. Look for a letter/number combo that looks like OE123456. This will be your serial number."

"Sam , Any tips on where it might usually be found, not having much luck finding anything but part #s all around this thing. looks like it used to have bar codes attached by way of stick ons but they are toast and cant be read any longer.

"There sometimes is a silver plug,size of a quarter, in the block with the serial number on it. But it should have been on a tag on the starboard(right) side of the clamp bracket that hangs the motor on the transom. Merc wasn't real consistent with tagging the Force engines."
