Recalls on 1989 58 ltr Cobra

Does anyone know of any recall

Does anyone know of any recalls on the 5.8 ltr cobra. I have a 1989 Bayline with the 5.8 ltr cobra OMC. I think the shifting cable sould work smoother then this does. I was told there had been a recall but can't find anything.

"There were recalls back in the late 80's early 90's for the gears in the older Cobra's and the shift cable. I would think if yours is an 89 the gears would be OK, check your lower shift cable and see if it has a red sheathing around it. If it does then you already have the updated cable although it could still need to be replaced now due to wear. OMC is gone now but even before it went out of businerss those recalls were ended in the 90's."
