My friend was given a 1982 Car

My friend was given a 1982 Caravelle 182 boat with a siezed up 305 GM V8 engine.. is it necessary to remove the outdrive to pull this motor? We were thinking to lift engine a bit and remove motor mounts completely from motor and manuver it from there... any complications we should be aware of? Thanks

the input shaft of the drive sticks into the engine coupler bolted to the flywheel.

So pull the drive. Also suggest you get yourself a decent manual for engine and drive service.

It's only 8 nuts,+ the drive is Off.....
And it's Got to be Off to put the motor back in,+ align the Gimbel Bearing......."
