Last night I noticed a

Last night I noticed a gas leak from my top carb when I apply pressure to the fuel bulb. The boat has been running poorly and I am wondering if I have a air leak that causing the fuel to leak at the same time creating a vacum leak. The motor is a 2001 evinrude 30 hp 4 stroke it has bee bogging down on me and will not rev up over 2500 rpms. any suggestions would help.

"Fred, The carb is likely overflowing, while undereay. They can leak into the motor as well. If you look at the spark plugs affected by that carb, you should see evidence of a too rich (black and wet plugs) mixture. Normally the cure is to rebuild the carb with a new inlet needle and seat, and perhaps a new float."
