"Boy,..........

I'd question hiring an Enginebuilder who Doesn't have his Own parts Suppliers,.......
That's usually where Builders make their Money..........
Especially if your motor needs Undersized, or Oversized parts,.....

If your motor is 1 of Merc.'s Chevy based motors,....
Your local GM dealer will have Any GM parts you could Want......"

Bondo is right. I would qestion the Machine Shop.
Most good Machine Shops Know where to get parts.
And if the Guy at the Machine Shop has never work on a engine like yours. Find another.
Your Engine Block is to costly for some guy to mess it up.

"I trust and like the shop that Im using but when it comes to the kits he wants to get auto kits and match the boat stuff. I know that the kit is were they make the money and that might be a problem in the future at this shop.

I found the place and a few others on ebay.

"greenly Befor you go and pay more for "Marine Parts". Look at the part numbers in the so called Marine Engine Kit. You will find most are just the same part in the Auto rebuild kit.
To make a Auto Kit into a Marine Kit.
You need Marine Gaskets,Marine Camshaft.
The Head needs Stainless Steel Valves.
And to upgrade a older engine to use Unleaded Gas.
You need to replace the valve seats. Most Machine shops allready know this.
It sometimes helps to UP the compression on a older engine to run better on Unleaded gas."
