"Picked up a flatbottom rig Saturday with a 1999 25 hp Yami. Don't know how much the motor has been run but looks lightly used. Ran it today, starts easy, idles fine but when trying to open it up cuts out like starving for fuel. I'm going to replace the fuel line since it appears to be cracked due to dry rot. Checked the fuel in the tank, doesn't have any water in it. The troubling thing is, I opened the cowl and found a little metal collar laying in the pan and I can't tell what it's from. It's appx 1/2 in. long, 1/4 in. dia. Looks like a stainless rolled pin but the joint is smooth. Any ideas what it is and if it's got something to do with the way the motor ran? I did eventually get the motor to open up and plane out the boat but never could run wide open, I think due to sucking air at WOT.
