"I'm stumped. My 1989 2.3 Ford when idling surges between 800 and 1400 rpms then eventually stalls. Like a flooded stall. I have just put in a new carb kit, and checked the timing. No vaccum leaks that I can find. Not sure what I missed.

Any ideas?"
 
I ended up trading carburators

I ended up trading carburators off of this one to resolve the idle surging issue. Not sure why the issue did not clear up with the rebuild but replacing it took care of it.
