I have to rebuilt a ford 302

I have to rebuilt a ford 302 is the core the same as a a car engine. Freeze plugs etc. Someone said the engine is nickel plated or something like that is taht true...or can i just pick up a rebuilyt core from a machine shop

I have 71 trihull boat replaced the307? with a strocker 383 sm blk chvy can I use gm hei dist car and quadroget carb automotive and car thermostat? sterndrive isomc stinger will it hold to hp Iv installed?
