no water coming out - engine

no water coming out - engine overheating. intake is not clogged. What is the cooling system on these things? How do I get to it?

" nissan 5hp, same as tohatsu and merc 5hp if you are interested. you need to take the gearbox off and the water pump sits on the top. It uses a rubber impeller that can break or burn if engine is run out of the water or if the intake gets blocked or simply by wearing out! "
 
I have a M5B 5hp Tohatsu/Nissa

I have a M5B 5hp Tohatsu/Nissan 1992 when I tried to take the gearbox off it drops like 1 1/2" and stops. I don't want to force it. Is there a clip or pin I should be pulling or does it just snap out? I need to get at the water pump.
 
Sounds like you have not unhoo

Sounds like you have not unhooked the shifter.
On the overheating you need to replace the impeller.
