"1989 225 Yamaha Excel-Haven't ran the boat in about two months, put the earmuffs on to flush, started up fine, ran for 3-4 minutes before temp alarm came on. Seems as if the water is not getting all the way through the motor. It is not peeing or exiting out anywhere else. Is this probably the impeller? I don't have time to fix it before I want to fish next weekend, how much should a yamaha service center charge to replace? Thanks in advance!"
 
it is 1.5 hrs for water pump

best try to shoot compressed air through the pee hole and see if that helps

"It is a saltwater motor. I have flushed it everytime since I have owned it (1 year) but I don't know about the people before me. I have heard these motors are known for corrosion issues. I will try the compressor, thanks."

sometimes u need to take off the screens to get water in there, i would try that also"
