"I have an 89 115 Yamaha with a NEW fuel line and primer bulb. The problem is the bulb does not pump-up hard. The motor starts and run good at low RPM's but, at anything over 5K the motor cut out like it is starving for fuel.Is this fuel line the problem? What would cause a new line not to pump-up?"

"Jesse,

If the primer does not get hard, either the primer is not working properly, one or more carbs is flooding due to a stuck float or valve, or you are losing pressure in a fuel line or fuel pump.

The after market fuel primers are frequently defective; they use check valves that are quite a bit inferior to the OEM.

"Tony,

This is an OEM Yamaha line. If it was a stuck float or valve would the motor be running bad?
I did just have the carbs rebuilt and a new water seperator installed. It starts and runs good as long as you keep the RPM's under 5K."
