"Hi after a few days of non use the steering gets real stiff on my boat, I have greased the fittings several times but it still does it.
Are there any hidden fittings on the cable?"

Seperate the steering cable fr

Seperate the steering cable from the motor to see if it is the motor or the cable.

I have had two of these motors

I have had two of these motors and have found this problem to be caused by the grease getting old inside the steering arm housing. I've had to use penetrating oil (PB blaster) to cut the old crude and then regrease. The last used 90 Yamaha was locked up so tight it took 6 hours to break it free. Now smooth as silk. Drew
