on a flushing attachement rpms on a 150 1994 yamaha is 1000 is this uncommon due to lack of back pressure or what

"that is just right!...when u put it in water,u have the back pressure,then in gear it should be right where it needs to be."
 
follow-up on my 1st post the m

follow-up on my 1st post the motor on a flushing earmuff is really idling much higher than 1st reported a constant 12 to 13 100 rpms . i can push up on the throttle link so slightly and the rpms comes down to 1000...is something out of adjustment or everything within range again have not been able to go to lake only on earmuffs....thanks for any advice

might have found my problem everyone the full retainer stop on the magneto control lever had backed off a couple of screw turns it did had threadlocker on it at one time but was'nt now just screwed in a turn or 2 and 1000 rpms all the time on the flushing muff..if anyone can agree or disagree let me know ...thanks
